1. Formal request and information

The first step in acquiring a Tutti Frutti franchise is to complete our PERSONAL INFORMATION FORM. Once we have received your completed form, we will contact you to discuss it with you.

2. Meeting

If your PERSONAL INFORMATION FORM shows us an interesting potential, we will organize a meeting in person which does not commit you to anything. This meeting will take place in one of the MTY Group offices or even in your region.

Buying a franchise is an important and exciting endeavor. However, we do want to speak face to face with you to make sure you understand that opening and operating a Tutti Frutti restaurant takes a lot of effort and dedication. Obviously, all of this work will be done in cooperation with the head office team who will share with you the ingredients to achieve success.

3. Make your decision

Once you have taken the necessary time to read all the documents that we will provide to help you make your decision, that you have made your financial statement, that you have received the advice and recommendation of your lawyer, accountant and other advisers , you will then be able to make a decision as to whether to pursue your project of acquiring a Tutti Frutti franchise.

4. Initial costs

To move closer to your goal of owning your own Tutti Frutti restaurant, you must make a refundable deposit of $ 10,000 which will be deducted from the franchise fee required upon signing of the Franchise Agreement.

5. Finding a location

Once you have completed steps 1 to 4, we will work with you to find the right location to establish your business. Our development department will assist you in finding a site and negotiating the lease.

6. Funding

While keeping your eyes open for a physical location for your restaurant, you need to research a source of funding and have the amount needed to pay for the entire project pre-approved. Tutti Frutti (MTY Group) does not offer direct financing. However, we can direct you to financial institutions that can provide you with the necessary financing.

7. Construction

Once your financing is pre-approved and before the construction of your Tutti Frutti restaurant, you will need to sign a lease as well as a Franchise Agreement. This step usually requires the deposit of personal guarantees.

The interior design of your restaurant usually takes 8 to 12 weeks.
It will add 4 weeks for the development of the architectural and engineering plans as well as 4 to 6 weeks for obtaining the permit to the city.

8. Your training!

Your training will take place in 3 phases:

Phase 1: Before opening your Tutti Frutti, you and / or the operator must have completed the training. This training is included in our services and support for franchisees. However, the franchisee is responsible for his travel, accommodation and expenses during the duration of the training if necessary.

Phase 2: With the help of the operations team at Tutti Frutti's head office, you will have to choose and prepare the members of your team (cook, waiters, assistant cook ...) for the grand opening of the restaurant.

Phase 3: The head office team will ensure that all team members have been properly trained and will practice periodic follow-ups to ensure that the quality is always at its best. During the first and second week of operation, a member of the head office operations team will support you constantly to ensure you are on top of the menu, service, quality and cleanliness.
